Introductory Dog Training Programs

Shed Introduction

Program Length: 2 weeks
Requirements: 5 months or older

Our shed introduction training program teaches your canine to recognize the smell of antlers in the wild and how to hunt down sheds with enthusiasm.

Bird & Gun Introduction

Program Length: 2 weeks
Requirements: 5 months or older

This is a very crucial program that sets the state for your pups future in hunting. Our program is designed to bring out as much bird desire in your pup as possible. We begin teaching your pup how to use his/her nose on dead birds and clipped wings; then onto flushing live game. We also properly introduce gun fire in this class.

Intermediate Dog Training Programs

Waterfowl Training

Program Length: 10 weeks
Requirements: 8 months or older

*Owner involvement is highly recommended for at least three sessions during this program.

Gauge, 5 years old, retrieving a bumper.

Our intermediate program is designed to achieve on-and-off leash training. The introduction of whistle recall will lay the foundation for future training and allow for a level of control. Your canine will go through both land and water retrieves; learning to retrieve completely to hand. Fieldwork is established with quartering skills. Your canine will know he is hunting with you and not for himself. This program is designed to give you control both at home and in the field. We provide exposure to both dead birds, live birds and gun fire. E-collars are introduced in this course. Your canine will learn how to work on marking down downed game and trailing birds.

Pointer Training

Program Length: 12 weeks
Requirements: 8 months or older

*Owner involvement is highly recommended for at least three sessions during this program.

Our program is designed to train your canine to point, honor and point, and the “whoa” command. In addition to pointer specific training, your canine will receive well-rounded training that includes both on-leash and off-leash control training, land and water retrieves, fieldwork, and quartering skills. During the course of this program your canine will gain exposure to both birds and gunfire. E-collars will be introduced.

Intermediate Shed Training

Program Length: 8 weeks
Requirements: 8 months or older

*Owner involvement is highly recommended for at least three sessions during this program.

Our 8-week shed program is designed to train your canine to recognize the scent of antlers and increase his/her drive to seek sheds. This program requires your canine to seek sheds in all types of terrain. We go over on-and-off leash control to ensure you have multiple levels of control both in the field and at home. Canines are trained to force fetch retrieves to hand.

Advanced Dog Training

Program Length: 16 Weeks
Requirements: Must pass intermediate training.

*Owner involvement is highly recommended for at least three sessions during this program.

In our advanced program we will finish the foundation that your dog started in our Intermediate Program. We immerse your canine into advanced fieldwork such as honoring another dog’s retrieve (both in upland and waterfowl situations), whistle, sit, hand signals and taking direction, as well as advanced marking and steadiness to live bird and shot.

Obedience Dog Training

Program Length: 6 Weeks
Requirements: 8 months or older

Our obedience program is ideal for canines of all ages. The goal of our obedience course is to gain complete control of your canine on a leash. We will train the basic commands (heel, sit, down, place, OK and kennel). As well as introduce e-collar training. All of these commands will have the common “stay” implied. “OK” is the release from every other command.
